Hi,
How to have a guy the same size as a guy in chromakey background clip.
I wish to video someone so that he looks like is next to the person in the chromakey back clip.
The chromakey part is fine it's looking for the way to be sure to have the new subject the same size as the guy in the back clip.
Any suggestions please?

To do this select on the Effects tab, Movement effects, Size and position to resize the selected clip.
The easy way is by dragging the handles in the preview monitor on the selected clip to resize it and drag into position as shown below
The only thing you have to be careful of is if the subjects are moving closer to or away from the camera where this does not work well

John you are absolutely correct about setting up size and position, however there is a big difference in how to do it if your chroma key subject is the smaller of the two versus if your main video subject is the smaller of the two. If the chroma key subject needs to be enlarged, that is really easy, however if the main video subject needs to be enlarged or reduced to fit in with the chroma key subject , that is a different issue unless you don't care about what the background scene looks like.
The example I posted had the chroma key subject enlarged to fit the scene. If the chroma key subject were the standard, i would have used a very different approach to reduce the main subject to fit the scene.

Sometimes John and I don't always agree on technique. That is nothing to be concerned about, it is simply creative differences. Neither of us is right or wrong, we just some times differ in how to approach a problem. This is good for you because you now have more than one way to look at how to solve your problem.
John and I both have a lot of experience doing this and if we always agreed with each other I would have to think that we were twins or at least brothers. And in some ways we are brothers in helping people get their projects done the way the want them. More than one way to solve a problem is actually very good as there is never one single way to create a video.

George and I agree often on a lot of things - in this case you get both sides as George has said.
In my opinion you should never adjust the background movie to fit the chroma key clip.
In an ideal world you should avoid the problem of having to resize in the first place by shooting the chroma key video such so that you do not have to make any 'large' changes in size.
Quality comes 1st, 2nd and 3rd with resizing upwards as far down the list as possible - except under exceptional cirumstance

Firstly your help is really appreciated and as the old English saying goes,. 'there is always more ways to skin a cat', so I am open to all options.
The examples were great.. 'picture worth a 1k words etc... :-)
My project is this..
I have old late 50's B&W video of a singer in an a TV studio of the day.
I will use this as the base and want to video someone sort of singing and doing much what the orig is doing and have them appear as if they are both in the studio together. Of course it will all be B&W.
I have seen it done with Elvis ad his daughter and Nat King Cole and his daughter but of course they have better equipment, expertise etc.
I thought maybe I may have to shoot the new person from a distance as the opening frames are the orig walking towards the camera from the back of the studio and then pretty much stays still in the one spot full body with cuts to head shoulders etc.
My chromakey sheet size will not allow me to shoot from too far away so the way you have shown to drag the image down looks just fine, if I understand it correctly.
Anyway it'll be fun trying it and once again many thanks..
