How to continue a voice only project

I am trying to vocally read a book then copy/save it digitally to a CD. The problem I'm having is after I have read for a certain time I want to stop, save it and then be able to return to where I ended, start again and continue the reading. Every time I try it just copies right over what I read earlier.

You should mute the first track and turn on the record button in the next track (as shown). Do the same for each new session. When you're finished, move each session object into the first track in the proper order and then export the entire track.
