How to adjust record quality

When recording via firewire from my DV camera, whether recording as an AVI or as an MPEG file the resulting video file is choppy or has a bunch of lines through it, especially during fast motion.  It also seems like any quality adjustments are "greyed" out so that I can't make adjustments.  I have tried both version 12 and 14.

Any solutions?

You could contcat support and do a DV camera Syscheck:

Otherwise, what DV camera do you have? Have you checked to see if there are any driver updates for it? If you capture using another program or the sofware that came with your camera, how does the captured video look? Do you have the same problems? Or does the video look better? If you still have problems, it's a wider problem to sort out and not just with Movie Edit Pro. If you can get a good quality capture using another program, it could be a work around solution - capture with the other program and then import and edit once the material is on your hard drive.
