how to add comments to a website

Nandor-Teremi wrote on 5/18/2021, 1:44 PM

I'm really impressed and content with Xara Designer Pro concerning how to make a website the only downfall I can't handle is that if I want make a magazine website I'm unable to add a comment section automatically if I make a post. I can copy and paste the code in the body tag of the script through the Website - website proprieties lap but I'm unable to position it so this look ugly. This way I'm really unable to make a interactive website by Xara. I do not find the right widget for that. Thank you for your answers and help, I really appreciate that!

Hi

. . . .  I'm unable to add a comment section automatically if I make a post . . . .

Can you clarify what you mean - do you want viewers to be able to post on the website?

. . . .  I can copy and paste the code in the body tag of the script through the Website . . . .

Which script are you referring to, where did you get if from, and what does it do?

Hello John,

Yes, I would like readers could add answers to an article of the website. Under scripts I mean I was searching scripts on the internet which I added into the body section of the website through Xara Designer Pro but the problem was the position. Just the comment was not under the article but rather the top of the website. So this not worked really.

AFAIK there is no widget that can do this.

Your options are limited to using a social media site where you post your articles and integrate this into your website, however this is IMHO very unsatisfactory.

The other methods of achieving this, require functionality that is beyond the capability of Designer, and Magix/Xara Online hosting if you are using it.

Can you post a link to the script you tried?

I tried the free comment plugin of POWR.io but it did not work well. It was on the website but at the top. I know a little bit of coding and with a wordpad adjusting directly into the code is the other option. I would like to have total control over the website.

Hi

I see that they are third party 'plugins' where they do the hosting. You cannot insert the code directly into Designer Pro

In principle you add a placeholder at the location on the page where you want the comments to appear, see here, and insert the code in the Head and/or Body HTML boxes of the place holders properties dialog as required.
