how do i stop magix music maker from recording over what i just recorded

how do i stop magix from recording over what i just recorded. and how do i stop it from starting at the begining when i press record even if im in the middle of the track?

With the scant information you've provided, anything we could offer is mere speculation. Is there any chance you could provide us with screen shots of the arranger before and after you've recorded a second track? That would answer many questions without having to beg you for more details.
