That is strange.

 

I had recorded audio directly with the program until today, after I read your question. on opening the program, I see that visually you only see the first 16 bars. so I went to record, pressed the red record icon and I stated talking for 47 seconds, and then pressed to keep that take.

 

I now see 23 bars as my recording went to that length, it appears that mine is working I think ok...

 

Is there anything else in your project? The reason I ask is that if you have, let say a Drum beat that goes out 16 bars, and you record... the program will playback the drum track as you record but when it gets to 16 bars, it will loop back to the beginning, thus overwrite the original recording part. You are saying it gets cut off, so it doesnt sound like what I just desicribed, but I thought I would explain this, just in case.

 

When you press to record, on the bottom of the record dialog (to the left of the record/stop button) there is a area that shows you the "Recording Capacity" can you tell me what that says? The recording capacity is the amount of hard disc space that is available on your hard drive (or at least what Windows is reporting as free space on the hard drive).

Thanks. Actually at first I noticed this too when I had a drum beat in there and it looped back. So now I opened a totally new file. Just recorded my voice into it and it still cuts off at 16 bars. It's really frustrating! lol

 

My Recording Capacity is: -595:-49:-3:-28.

 

Is this bad or good?

Ok. Bizzare. I just did it now and it kept going till 33 bars. I am doing a test run again to see if it works if I let it run till say 5 minutes.

 

My question now is, if I add a beat from beatbox that just needs to loop 16 bars, how do I add that in there after vocals without making the whole thing loop at 16 bars.

 

Further more, I don't usually like recording the vocals 'first'. How can I record to rest of the instrumentation and then the vocals without being locked into the 16 bars?

 

So confused! lol

What i think you can try is to just take a very simple drum beat or click track ( to help with timing) and drag it out far  like 100+ bars    then record your vocal  then delete your click track...... the other option is if you wand to loop  say  beatbox  just create the beat you want then copy it and paste it right next to your original  as many times as you need to  to accommodate your vocals  then you can edit  the beatbox or anything else as needed...    I hope I understood your question right and was able to help  .... love to hear what you come up with... :)

Hi,

Since you have posted your question I have been thinking reading and thinking how to solve your problem.

Finally I found your problems as, Bar, 16 55 or else.

Then Loop and song problem, 16 Bar loop.

 

First, when we open Magix Music Maker, it will show on arranger 16 Bars, when we start recording it must keep recording unless you stop but in your case it is different. Therefore, first Open Magix Music maker, click on "R" key it will open Audio Recording window, look at right there is Reset button click on it and Put check mark No3  Playback while recording. Under Reset there is Advance Tab click on it and in the Options put check mark in Real time Resampling, (may be it will work).

 

You got other options if you look at screen shot, follow red marked items. You can increase Bar, easy maths, 3 Minutes = 60 Bars (180 seconds) Set as you want. For recording option follow red marked items in the Audio Recording. For increasing Bar please click Minus sign(-) right below in screen shot mentioned by Click here. If you will click Minus sign you can get more space on right side that will help you to pull Bar to right.

Now Loop Bar and Song thing.

 

Usually when we compose a song with music there is a pattern and two ways first record music or vocals(song) do as you like. I am not going to talk about intros, outros, chorus etc.

 

In your case, you can record your vocals first, Open Magix Music Maker, set the bar according to duration you like. Give a name to project and save without recording, as project is saved start singing and complete song this time you should not face any problem finally save it.

 

Now Start new Project give any name and save it, start composing music as you like. Remember where you do not want music you can mute that part, it is up to you from where you fade in fade out music loop is not a problem, you can copy paste, mute any part of music. Finally save it.

 

Click Ctrl+A it it will choose everything then copy it. Copied items are saved on Clip Board. You can close project not Magix Music Maker, and open your song project. As you open it, put cursor on desired place and click PASTE or use Ctrl+V. then you have to adjust the music part therefore, once again choose all then drag and adjust. When it is done save again this project with different name. Your originals are saved.

 

Start adjusting music, fade in fade out, or mute what ever you want while testing your vocals.

When everything is done save it and export as audio.
