How do I keep title effects from shifting?

I'm doing opening credits and I want them to be off towards the sides and corners of the video so they don't cover the action taking place, but every time i go into either Title Effects or Image Size and Position, I move them to where I want and press OK, and then the title shifts over towards the center of the video, so it's on the correct side but not far enough towards the edge.

I think I know what you are saying, where you position the text but it does not like the position you have selected and it moves to the closest position to where you wanted it, but it still is not where you want it.

To combat this, you need to open the text editor and choose the Advance button, then to the area Options and take the tic check away from "Only apply to visible TV area". Then go back and move the text where you want it.

Warning, you might want to stop there and export just that section to make sure it is visible the way you want.
