How Do I import vocals and edit them without program freezing

I have Music Maker 16 and am on a Windows & operating system. Whenever I import a vocal track it's fine until I try to stretch it or play with the pitch, at which point the music maker freezes up and i have to ctrl-alt-del and end it...any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. i had an older laptop that i used previously with the program and it was Windows XP and it occasionally froze but not the way this computer is...Thanks

How much RAM do you have....??

Did you change the windows program to Win7...

When you have opened up the MMM click Y...

go to Audio/MIDI and have a look at the "Treiber"... (don´t know the English word, sorry)

may be it is better to change to WAVE instead of ASIO...

maybe there is too little RAM for the new windows program and MMM together...

You will probably need 2 to 4 GB to work without problems...

because using the pitch or change BPM means hard work for the CPU and RAM...
