Hi,
I have just installed magix music maker 14 xxl to my computer. Its a windpws vista 1525, Intel Pentium computer. Then I connected the midi keyboard to the computer with a usb stick but there is not coming any sound from it, and even when I try to record it doesn't record anything from the keyboard. What am I doing wrong?? and how can I fix it??
Please help!!

Eva

Hi Eva,
Well we'll need some details to get this solved. Is this a Magix midi software/keyboard combo or do you have your own midi keyboard?

Does the computer recognise the keyboard? When you plug it in did it acknowledge it's presence either by installing drivers or giving you a sound that a USB device is plugged in?

Next, try to play a midi file - many are free on the web if you don't have any. What happens? Does it appear to play but no sound?

Let me know and we'll proceed,
Justin

Ok,
Now this should be a given... but make sure the MIDI device in the Magix properties is your keyboard. Also try clicking the Icon area on the left side of the track to activate the MIDI icon prior to recording.

Give that a shot and let me know,
