As usual with problems like this, the user's manual and help files are simplistic and incomplete.

To do this you must run the Harmony Agent.  To use the Harmony Agent, the object must have its beat information defined.  If it is a soundpool object, this has already been done.

If the object is a sound file you have imported, you will probably need to run the Beat Finder and save the beat information to the object.  Unfortunately, the Beat Finder does not always work satisfactorily.

Assuming the beat has been found, run the Harmony Agent.  On "step two", you will need to make sure the box to save the harmony information to the audio file is checked.  Hit APPLY when finished.

The harmony information will then be shown in the arranger.  The guitar tablature will appear in the arranger, and the "current" harmony/chord information will appear in the video window as the track plays.
