It shouldn't be this complicated. This is what puts me off trying out subscriptions.

@Lee-N, @fishycomics

Hi

Subscriptions have additional conditions for cancellation.

To cancel your subscription, you can do this up to 1 month before the end of the current subscription period you took out.

See the terms and conditions for more information in the section headed:

II. Special provisions for software subscriptions,

Sub section § 2 Contractual period, cancellation

about 2/3rd of the way down the page.

Hi,

It shouldn't be this complicated. This is what puts me off trying out subscriptions.

It's not complicated at all. The information was there when you signed up in multiple places, you just didn't read it. It's still there, just look at this:

Thanks but I still think it shouldn't be that difficult. Cancelation should be as simple as clicking a button, especially when auto-renew is forced. Send by post in writing is not acceptable IMO and email is unreliable and too often ignored.

SP. wrote on 3/9/2024, 6:52 PM

@Lee-N The standard way is an e-mail to infoservice@magix.net.

I don't think they can ignore that. Since they explicitly stated in EULA that you can send your cancellation to infoservice@magix.net and you usually have a copy of this in your e-mail sent-folder. The cancellation date is the day you send the e-mail. They wouldn't be able to get around this to keep you in the subscription for another year.

The German Magix.com website has even a form at the bottom of the website to cancel your subscription service.

https://www.magix.com/de/support/abo-service-kuendigen/

It's a law in Germany that you need to able to cancel a subscription via a button if you can buy a subscription via a button, so Magix must have this option available in Germany. For other countries it's usually infoservice@magix.net.
