how can I mute background music on an individual video clip

when making a slide show (movie) with photos and video clips, how do I mute the background music on the video clips?

If the video you are inserting has music, you can turn down the audio that is under that video clip.

If you want to mute half, highlight it by clicking on it... then placing the time stamp ruler to the part you want to split, and turn down the video on one side.
