How can i get rid of my demo version of Magix music maker 17 completely in order to install the full version?

A few months ago I installed the Magix Music Maker trial version, played around with it a bit and UNINSTALLED IT then forgot all about it. After seeing a youtube video about it I subsequently bought the full version (Music Maker 18 MX Premium) . Upon entering the disk and trying to install it I came across a problem. Its says the demo version is already installed, however I definitely uninstalled it and it does not appear in the 'Uninstall/change a program list' so I looked, and found that the Music Maker folder was still there, I deleted it. It still does not allow me to install the full version because it says I still have the demo installed. I don't. What do I do?

Hi

Use the Magix cleanup utility here to remove old components left behind.  Reboot your computer then reinstall new version.

Hi

The problem would suggest to me that, for some reason, in rebooting your computer Windows is reverting back to a previous system state ie it is doing a system restore to the previous saved restore point which of course has the settings for the trial version.

If, and only if, this is the case you should get a message (depending on your windows version) saying the computer is reverting to a previous restore point, then I would disable System Restore, uninstall again, run the cleaner, disconnect from the Internet, disable any Antivirus and Antispyware (if you can), check there are no folders left behind - the locations will depend on your version of Windows , reboot, check again no folders have reappeared and try to install again.

If you are comfortable using a good registry cleaner eg CCleaner then this may be an option, at this point I normally give a health warning - do so at your own risk and make sure you have good backups or all the installation discs in case it goes pear shaped!
