I get the following error message when trying to play certain instruments:
"Vita could not find the file": YT-MX acoustic piano norm xao

how do you wish to proceed?
Then it gives the following options:
Abort loading
Retry
Auto-find
find
ignore
I have tried all of them. the only one that doesnt freeze my screen is "abort loading"

What were you doing when you got this strange message, can you take screen shot?
by reading it seems you are trying to open a saved project. Some time this kind of message appear if projects files are moved or if it is telling you the name of audio, use FIND browse the soundpool directory where that Piano file is click on the respective file it will open that then you can re-save the project.
If you are doing some thing else then please explain that will help to answer you properly.
Note: Do not use email, messenger or any other software when you use Music Maker.

Thanks for details, it is strange, why not do this and check if Acoustic Piano is available or not
Open Music Maker under synthesizer double click on Vita Midi editor should be opened from drop down menu of Instruments VSTi choose Acoustic Piano, if you can see here then it is available and there is some problem with the Keybaord you connected with pc.
In my casse I do got MMM 16 on windows xp computer and I can not add Vita synthesizer, I also use Music Maker Premium 16 on Vista computer that work fine.
