How can I export a track to MIDI in Music Maker 16 without saving to NILSTRING.MID

Before anyone asks, I already know about the "copy and rename" trick, but for some reason whenever I make a new composition in the MIDI editor, it simply won't overwrite the NILSTRING.MID file, thus making this trick impossible to complete. Is there a way around this, so that I can save to a different file?

I am not sure I understand... I cannot find a NILSTRING.MID in my Music Maker softare.

I can open a new MIDI project, compose the MIDI arrangement, then Export the MIDI (under the drop-down menu 'File') and name it what I want.

Is that what you are referring?

I can't seem to find a feature like that in my program, but that's probably because I'm running Music Maker 16, and not a newer version.
