hi. when i open the audio effect rack to edit an object it will not play. every time i go to press the object play button it plays the arrange ment instead

What is your Music Maker version?

Are you using Windows 7?

It is strange if won't play, you can Play and Stop by using SPACE BAR.

Choose the object, open audio effect rack click on Space Bar then make necessary adjustment click ok. ( I prefer to use OK instead Apply and OK).

I have checked the MMM 16 Premium version which I use and it is working ok.

If you can re-install Music Maker that might solve your problem.
