HELP. Samplitude MS2013 - Recorded objects change pitch/tempo where no effects have been applied

Using MS2013 under Win7 via Lexicon Omega USB I/F, ASIO

Having successfully used MS2013 for over a year, I suddenly have all newly recorded objects changing pitch/tempo without applying any effects. This applies to track objects newly recorded (since about 10 days ago) in either newly created or existing VIPs, Existing (previously recorded) track objects are unaffected.

I can find no online or offline effects set on the tracks or track objects concerned

The result is an object that replays immediately after recording as if it has been pitch shifted up by a tone, and timeshifted to replay at about 1.1 times original speed.

I do use pitch shifting/timestretching frequently on samples that I either record or import, but can see no mechanism by way this can have been accidentally applied as a global record or playback option.

If anyone can shed light on what I may have done, or what may be causing the effect, I'd be really grateful.

Thanks

Dave

Hi

. . . . timeshifted to replay at about 1.1 times original speed . . .

Check that you have not accidently changed the default audio bitrate from 44.1 khz to 48 khz - you will notice that this is a factor of ~ 1.1 as you are experiencing.

OK, here's an update. I noticed that the mouse mode was on 'curve move and grab mode', and also that the driver mode was set to MME - I use ASIO with the Omega normally.

Having reset cursor/mouse mode to 'Object mode', and set the driver mode to ASIO, recordings are back to normal.

How these settings could have affected the pitch/time stretch state of each new recording, even in newly minted VIPs, I have no idea, but the problem is resolved.

Thanks johnebaker for your suggestion.
