Old Age Pensioner here having problems.

Just bought a new laptop and reinstalled my software, Samplitude 2014 (yes I know). I have opened midi editor to write notes manually but I can not hear the notes playing as I write them. Can someone help in getting the sound back.

After writing the notes and press play the sound is there not when writing.
