format avi 5min presentation=5Gb!!!!

I'm doing a photo presentation with photostory DVD 2013 and I don't understand why, a 5min video when exported as .avi it becomes a 5Gb file! How can I compress this?? it's ridiculous!

Hi,

File Size = bitrate x run time AVI by default uses very high bit rates which produce large file sizes. Either change your bit rate or use something like .MP4 and your file sizes will be smaller.
