Sony xavc s can't be read. I bought the codec, which worked perfectly. But today it doesn't work in vpx 14. Vpx 14 shows the file format can't be read. Please help.
Check that your Antivirus program Folder/Ransomware protection feature is not blocking access to the folder where the video files are located.
If the Antivirus is not the issue - what changed on the computer between working and not working, eg VPX was updated to the latest patch, a Windows update was applied etc?
Are the video files within a folder in your Documents folder?
. . . . Sony xavc s . . . I bought the codec . . . .
Was this the AVC-Intra codec?
This should not be necessary for XAVC-S files which are based on the AVC/h.264 standard, nor XAVC HS files which are h.265 encoded.
Download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips and post the results, see this tutorial on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip for all the data required.
I would also suggest you put your computer specification, Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.
The problem was solved when I had added the movie clip one by one to the timeline, which allowed enough time for the proxy completed one after one. I think the problem was caused by the ram or cpu limitation of my laptop.
One thing I want to ascertain is that vpx 14 is able to accept dropping multiple clips to the timeline in one go.
