Exporting objects as MP3 using object names

richs wrote on 4/23/2013, 6:23 AM

Hi Everyone,

I have samplitude music studio 15. Is it possible to export the objects as MP3's that have the same names as the objects. At the moment it just exports and names them with the original file name and I then have to go and rename them in the windows folder which is time consuming.

Do later versions of the program allow you to choose how they are named.

Thanks

from

Richard

To my knowledge, you can overwrite any default file name whenever saving a file in Windows.  I'd be surprised if you couldn't.

Thanks but I'm not just saving a file, I'm using music studio to export objects as MP3.

Any suggestions anyone? or is something i can't do with music studio?

Hi

. . . .Thanks but I'm not just saving a file . . . .

Yes you are - when you export you are creating a file - mp3's are files, every single piece of music on your computer is a file - it is the format inside the file that changes with the file type.

As Procyon says just overwrite the default name.

Yes but I want to know if music studio will output the Mp3's with the object names.

I know I can change the file names but the last project had 70 objects in it and I had to change the name of every file manually after I had exported.

Is there a way of getting music studio to do it? or if not do later versions of the program have this facility?

Thanks for help

Hi

AKAIK Samplitude does not allow you export individual objects on the timeline as individual files all in one go.  You have to do them one by one.

What are the 70 objects - ie are they created by yourself, recording various instruments?

Are you trying to create your own Soundpool collection?

They are individual tracks/files for a drum tutor book I have written.

I can export them all at once but it seems there's no way to get the program to export them and name the files using the object names.

Shame!

I have found the best solution to exporting audio sample that uses the same name for the exported file as the object in question. Right click on the sample and go down to wave edit. That brings up your sample in a new window. Right click again, making sure the whole sample is highlighted. Go down to export audio. That then gives you the available file types. The sample will then be exported with any effects and the saved file will automatically use the same name as the object or take. I think that's what your referring to?

@Tony-Barton

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Did you notice that this thread was started in 2013 (and has received no further replies since then)? It will also inevitably refer to a (now) old version of Samplitude Music Studio!

I think we all appreciate your willingness to attempt to help another user but, as a general rule, please do not resurrect such old threads.

I will close this thread to prevent any further posts being made.
