Can anyone help with this ? I have uninstalled magix 17 and reinstalled to see if that helps but still doing it.

Make sure your audio devices are set correctly in Windows - Control, Panel Sounds, Audio tab and check you can actually record - use Sound Recorder.

MMM should pick up the correct device and ask you to select it in the Audio Recording dialog.
