I have made "Update Service" some days ago. Software is working properly, but when I start Xara Web Designer Premium, I allways get a message "Renew the Update Service". I have clicked on "Ok", the program (Service Update) ended. Xara is working. After next Xara start bring back the message "Renew the Update Service". I have already unistalled Xara completly and I reinstalled it. After reinstall the problem is the same renew message.πŸ˜’ What can I do?

@Sandor-Szollosi

Hi

The Update service message should only appear oce if it installed correctly, at least until the next update,.

Check that your Antivirus program Folder protection / Ransomware feature is not blocking the update- depending on the AV program there may be messages in the log files or quarantined items.

Hi

Unfortunately, the virus protection log does not contain any information about Xara. I uninstalled all the remnants of the previous Xara programs (also in the AppData folder) and the program itself, reinstalled it, but the situation did not change.

I found the solution on another forum (post 2020), unfortunately there is a Xara bug again.
You have to rename the file Service_rel_u_u_x64_vc12.exe
(Service_rel_u_x64_vc12.bak may also be). No more unnecessary, repetitive messages.

I keep getting this update subscription service message after supposedly downloading the update file. Nothing happens and my software version doesn't change. Can you guys fix this. Auto updates should be just that. Your's is the only software I have an issue with as far as updates are concerned. I'm using Xara Web Designer Premium 18.5.0.63630 Β DL x64 Jan 10 2022. Can't update to ver 19.

@Derek-Thompson

These are user to userΒ forums, so not a contact for any Magix staff and the software is not ours.

Have you tried the solution in the post directly above yours? With what result?

I removed the installed version and installed the latest version (19). Everything works fine. Thank you for your help.

I tweaked my anti-virus and the update finally went thru. Finally on ver 19. Over the next few days I'll be checking to see if that silly update message has gone away
