Error in module "SWPWrapper.DLL"

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

A very quick Google search on that .dll file produces almost no results! However, I have checked my computer, where I have PS installed and running successfully, along with a number of other Magix products, and SWPWrapper.DLL does NOT exist for me anywhere. In other words, this seems to not be a Magix problem, sorry.

One Google link I found led to a page on the NVidia developers forum, but I honestly did not understand what was being asked!

Do you have any NVidia hardware in your computer? If so, what? Are its drivers fully up to date?

You could try this option.

The safest way to repair missing or corrupted Wrapper.dll file caused by your Windows operating system, is to run the built-in System File Checker, which replaces missing or corrupted system files.

To do this, right-click the Start button on your Windows 10 computer to open the WinX menu and click the Command Prompt (Admin) link.

In the CMD window, copy the following command and press Enter :

sfc /scannow

You could also try chkdsk command.

Run a Malware scan and temporarily disable virus to see if you still get the same error.

Can you describe at what stage or are trying to do when this error message appears?

Do you have Solid Works installed?

Added: - are you trying to import a Shockwave/Flash video file? If so Flash has been deprecated and all references to it removed from Windows 10.

It is during the initial import of photos. There are some videos taken with a mobile device. I haven't used the program for 2 years but I used the same method of import then without problems.

Can you check the name of the DLL file that is mentioned in the error message - I suspect it is SMPWrapper.

The video from the mobile phone is most likely Variable Frame Rate and could also be HEVC encoded which is possibly the cause of the error.

Download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the mobile video files with it. Using the Text view, in the video section of the analysis if you see:

Frame rate mode : Variable

then the video needs converting to Constant Frame Rate with a video converter such as Handbrake.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your message. Please go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX\Photostory Deluxe
and rename the file SMPWrapper.dll to e.g. SMPWrapper1.dll
This should solve the problem.
