Hi

Assuming you burned a standard DVD then the most common reason for this is the DVD player is not compatible with the type of disc or cannot read the disc due to a an issue eg using economy non branded discs.

More information is needed:

Which program are you using to burn the disc?

What burn settings are you using?

Make and type of DVD disc?

DVD player make and model number?

   DVD burner make and model?

Note: if you are burning BD or AVCHD to a standard DVD disc then a DVD player cannot play the disc - the file structure and format between DVD and BD/AVCHD is totally different.
