DVD Menu settings

Robert-Wells wrote on 1/30/2021, 12:51 PM

I have completed a DVD disc and unfortunately have used the wrong settings on the Burn section. There are 6 separate years of photos and after playing the first it then goes to the second year when playing the disc.

On the Burn Edit I have ticked Film Menu and unticked Chapter Menu but that choice means that the sections play one after the other. I would like to go to the main menu after viewing one year.

@Robert-Wells

I think the only way to create the disc to be playable in the way you describe is to create 6 separate projects and then combine them on the one disc. I'm not at all sure that PS will allow you to do this; Video Pro X certainly will and I believe Movie Edit Pro will also but I think this is "too complex" for PS.

I will be only too happy to be proved wrong!

@Robert-Wells, @emmrecs

Hi

Photostory Deluxe can have multiple movies/slideshows and will automatically create the correct disc menu - to add more timelines click the indicated + icon shown below (from a quick and dirty project), you can also edit the names of the slideshows by right clicking the name on each tab and selecting Rename slideshow.

The menu created will look something like this

Do note this can put extra load on your computer and may slow down editing.

I created a tutorial for doing this using Movie Edit Pro many years ago here - it uses a method to reduce the load on the PC and applies equally to Photostory, there may be some terminology differences eg movie = slideshow however the principles are the same.
