Video Pro X supports Quicktime (MOV) files which contain any of the supported codecs inside - HD MOV files usually have the H.264 video codec inside which is supported.
MOV is a container format and can have any video and audio codecs inside it - in the case of the file(s) you have they have the DVCProHD format inside which is not supported as standard.
The Magix website says - MAGIX Video Pro X4 ...... optionally with all professional video formats such as DVCPRO, AVC-Intra
There is an activation fee for the DVCPro codec - see here (in the small print at the bottom). Did VPX 4 prompt you to activate the codec when you tried to import the video file?
No it did not I am downloading some free HD video files now to see if they work but thanks for the link I will check that out and see how much the charge is and if it is worth it
