You know how in Windows Movie Maker when you load a video clip it is automatically divided into smaller clips? Is there a way to do that with Magix Movie Edit Pro?

You mean to cut the film into scenes? Yes!
Stand in Timeline mode, right-click the video-track and choose Scene detection.
This can be automatically done when reading in from a DV-tape camera.
