Welcome to the Magix forums.

From what you write it seems that your setting for the cursor may be wrong. See my screenshot below, especially the highlighted area. Before you delete your music track ensure the first of the two icons is selected, as in the picture.

If you have the second icon selected/highlighted, any change you make to one track will also affect any others; the first icon limits the changes to the track you are working in.
