Cursor keeps going back to start of timeline

Hi, just wondering why my cursor keeps going back to the start of the timeline when I try to play it?

I'm using Video Pro X6.

It doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes after certain keystrokes or selections which I have yet to nail down.

Closing and opening the programme doesn't fix it.  I'm hoping after I shut down my PC and boot again, the problem will be solved.

Hi.

I don't have VPX6 but I'm pretty certain this setting has always been present through the different versions of VPX.

Go to File>Program Settings (shortcut Y), the Playback tab and ensure the box outlined in the screenshot below is ticked:

That is the global setting to ensure the cursor remains at the point where you stopped playback. However, I notice you say the return to the start occurs for you

As you suggest, I think you need to nail down the exact sequence of user actions that give rise to this for you; it's certainly not something I have ever seen.

Thanks Jeff,

I tried that and cursor still went back to the start, even after restarting the computer.  However, other projects I loaded up don't have that problem.

So, I made a new, blank project with the same movie properties. Then added the problem project as a new movie.  Copied its content, and pasted it into the new project.  Bingo, cursor plays fine on new timeline.

Then I deleted the problem movie from the new project and am now back on track.

Strange one!  Thanks for the tip on that setting, though.  Didn't know about that!
