Hi,

Basically the answer is "yes". You can import DVD (*.VOB) files into the program and you can output AVI files (using whatever codecs are installed on your system and suitable for the export).

Not sure what program you want to import the AVI files into to create a slideshow, but if you consider buying Movie Edit Pro 15, you might as well do your slideshows in there, without any AVI conversion procedures. The program will probably offer you more features and options than most basic slideshow applications.

Yes, you can but you have to make sure that the DVD is not copy-protected or encripted because 1)it's illegal and 2) it won't work.

You just gotta find the codec for it and your on your way!
