Color changes

Can someone explain to me how to use the "Color changes" feature under Image Optimization? I would like a photo to start displaying normally, but as it zooms into a detail, I'd like it to start turning to a progressively stronger red hue, about half way through its timeline (horror movie style.) I can't seem to be able to do that though, whatever color I pick under the Color Changes selection starts displaying at full strength from the very beginning of the photo being displayed, until the next selection/photo. I tried playing with the settings under the Color changes menu (Total, Selection, Remaining), but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Is there a way to get e progressive color change effect to occur only between specific points in the timeline of a photo?

Thanks,

Umberto

@umberto2

Hi

The key to doing this is Keyframing - I would use the Colour effect rather than the colour change - it is more intense using the method shown below.

BTW you should not see the artefacts as the colour changes - this is a result of the screen capture.

Thought I would share the end results here, thanks again John as it wouldn't have looked nearly as good without your input. It's a 25th wedding anniversary video... The horror part comes when our girls were born, about half way through, lol.

@umberto2

Hi

Congratulations on your anniversary.

The video is well paced and tells the story beautifully and some humour (the horror part) - a good job and well done.
