Whilst I was aware of Catooh's closure, I now feel sad at it's loss.
Converting some old VHS family short movie clips to MP4 over the last year I did use Catooh quite a number of times to find a suitable Intro for a selected edit of a selection.
With the closure of Catooh I was hoping for more clips to be added to Producer Planet, but unfortunately not so far. Therefore not used to looking anywhere other than Catooh, can anyone suggest is there anywhere else where I should be looking?
Yes I have looked a number of times. As far as I can see there are about 25 Intro's of which nearly half of them relate to Xmas. So not much choice so far for anything other than a Christmas theme Movie that was why I was wondering where else to look.
Funnily enough I found that out last night when I opened MEP just to see what ‘Intros’ I had within the program. I must have bought them at some stage.
For me though, I never opened MEP until I was ready to start a project so had never thought of looking. Once I had mastered the ‘advanced search’ technique of Catooh, I had liked to hover over the different ‘offerings’ checking them out which I found also helped me with inspiration. So far though on Producer Planet, not only does there seems to be just a relative few by comparison available to buy, but the ease of checking each one out seems to be harder and longer. So sadly my inspiration link seems to have been extinguished.
With regard though to prospective ‘Intros’, my own thought process was that this past year I had completed an exercise of transferring loads of small camcorder recordings for our son, that had initially been saved to VHS, to individual and very small (several hundred) MP4 selections. (About 4 tapes worth transferred in all). I now have two back-up copies and am just finishing noting every single recording on numerous Excel sheets. As a result of this process I started thinking of trying to improve the viewing of a few at least to start with – an anniversary, birthdays, a visit, ??? - and adding an Intro & Outro and so, now missing Catooh had been wondering if there was anywhere else to look.
