Phostory 9 is a somewhat old version released in 2010, and it is highly probable that it it is not compatible with Windows 11.

What codec was being asked for, a screenshot of the dialog would help. And which did you purchase?

I know it’s old, I do have 16 and 18, but I always go back to 9. As I have for now reinstalled windows 10, I can’t remember what the encoder they requested, but when I clicked the link to get it this is what they said yo buy

 

I also have purchase the original AVCHD encoder, which I also tried, but it didn’t work.
