Hi, I'm a new user. Music Maker 16. My interface is Line 6 toneport UX2 with gearbox as the controller. Music maker can recognize the driver for my interface. The thing is when I try to record vocals, it keeps saying "Cannot open new Project".
I haven't recorded anything else. I was gonna practice with vocals first. I'm mainly using this to record songs.

Have you tried to patch your mike diectly into your computer to test that your input port is working. Then work backward by hooking up your Line 6 into the same input on your computer. The pogram should not care what your voice is pumped through as long as it is getting a signal.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I am sure that the mic has a signal because the needle on gearbox tweeks when I do a test and I could hear my voice through the headphones. Maybe my settings is wrong somehow on Music Maker.

It seems your Line 6 toneport UX2 is no longer available and other product is POD Studio UX2 according to http://line6.com/toneportux2/. Did you update your driver before you connect your interface? you can check the line6.com for that.
After you finish installation of your interface you will have to do settings in Music Maker and also in Windows control Panel.
Your interface only support Xp and Vista.
Please just refer this pdf tutorial you will get an idea where in control panel you need settings by following photos.

Using interface and getting this message "Cannot open new Project".
is two different things. Did you save any project?
Suppose you have saved project and later when you open you get this message "Cannot open new Project". in that case you can also try this to open saved project:
File/Load arrangement a window will be appeared, scroll down right choose All files, try to locate BAK file open it, if it is the same project just save it and it will open any time later.
As you understand from your question it is not clear what you want? help for interface or opening project?
If you need help please mention Music Maker version, Windows OS, XP, vista or 7?
