Can't activate product.

"an online connection could not be established". I've checked my internet settings, Internet Explorer settings and firewall settings. it still doesn't work.

You're so scared of piracy that the product doesn't work for people who payed 60 dollars for it.. Imagine the hardest part is being allowed to open the software.. nice.

@robin-i

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Please note this is a user to user forum, not Magix Support.

This issue seems to be becoming a regular issue for some users and is most often caused by Antivirus and/or firewall issues - many AVs are getting very aggressive with their Ransomware/Folder protection features.

The other main cause is incompatibility with the operating system installed on the PC.

What is your computer specification, Windows version and antivirus/firewall program? See this topic for details of what is required.

Several users have got around this issue by temporarily turning off the firewall and anti-virus -

BTW - software piracy is and has been a prevalent and serious issue for software companies in general.

Hi. I’m not using any anti virus softwares and the fire wall was off. I’m using an Acer laptop running windows 7.

Yeah i figured this was a community forum as Magix seem to have tried their hardest to avoid talking to customers. i.e. no support email, no chat and no phone number to find anywhere.

i’m aware piracy is a problem, but when you put in measures so drastic that actual customers are having problems with it, it’s getting a bit on the ridiculous side.

Hi Robin.

A few times now you have used the term 'You' meaning that you think there are any staff from Magix here and there are none. Just users. We have no evidence Magix staff ever browse the forums here. If you had an activation code sent to you, use that email address to contact Magix.

Ray.
