Can I delete unused samples in Music Maker 16?

I just started working with Music Maker 16 to record my own audio files.  I used to use Magix Audio studio for Windows XP, and I had the option of deleting unused audio samples that I had cut from my recordings (otherwise, Magic saves all the audio so that you can stretch objects and recover old sound samples, which takes up a lot of space).  Is there a way to delete unused samples in Music Maker 16?

Manually, I think that is the only way.

Left click on the sample in the arrangement then press delete.

Someone is confused here, and I'm not sure who it is.  (It might be me!)

If for some reason you think it's using too much memory, it may be time to upgrade your computer's memory. Also, you cannot run any other programs on your computer while running MMM.

The "samples" in your arrangement are called "objects".  They are not actual samples but "images" of audio files (samples) on your hard drive.  They may take up space on your arranger, but they do not take up any significant "space" on your hard drive.

The only "parts" that are being "used" are the parts of the object you have showing.  There are no "unused parts".  In fact, they are only "used" during the mix-down when you export the final arrangement.  You may have unused objects, or copies of objects, that you're not using.  If so, just delete them just as John suggested - click to highlight and hit the DELETE button.

There is no point in trying to eliminate parts of an object that is not shown.  But, if you really have your heart set on it, you can.  Just export ONLY that object as a WAV file and then replace the object with the WAV file you just created. Although, you can still extend the new WAV object (actually an "image" of the WAV file) - it will only be a repeat of the WAV file - so you have in fact gained nothing.

The only other option is to export selected parts of your arrangement as a WAV file and re-import them as a single object.  But then, of course, you cannot re-edit the new object (assuming you've applied effects, etc.) - so you'd be stuck with it.

Hi,

When you use a loop, you modify it, MMM create a copy in a directory which is defined in the program's parameters (shortcut Y) .

In the last screen of the parameters, where directories are defined, it is the second line "import", under "project" (translation fromFrench version).

You can delete all these files, they will be automaticaly recreated if needed. Sometimes it can solve some problems with MMM.

I don't know if it answer to your question.
