BUG - Video deluxe 2024 - Pressing undo once undoes last 20-50 steps

You could imagine that this is more than mildly annoying, losing an hour of work just by expecting the undo-button to function properly.

It undoes about 20-50 steps every time while pressing re-do only redoes a single step - and after 10 uses claiming that there is nothing to be redone. This however only seems to be affecting video effects. Things like cutting and moving objects are unaffected.

Hi.

The amount of undo functions can be increased in the program settings. It is limited because the amount of ram used and increasing it may lead to performance issues. The timing of the auto save function can also be altered in that section. The default backup file setting is every ten minutes so if you go to the folder you chose to put your project files into you could look up a BAK file instead to go back to a previous state of the program. I think BAK files are numbered 1 to 0 but are cyclic, meaning the highest number may not be the most recent so it is good to look up the time of the saved file.

I have a number of programs that do this to save memory or disc space including Photoshop although the labelling of functions is different.

Sorry, I may have misunderstood your post.

You are trying to undo settings made in effects? Personally I either delete an effect in the key frame editor or reset it in the effect or reset it via right clicking on the object and select reset video effects.

That is definitely not normal. I've tried a few undos here and each effect is only undone one at a time.

Try a program reset: File>Settings>Reset program settings to defaults.

There is a contradiction here: 20 - 50 steps is not possible when it is telling you that it cannot do any more after 10 steps.

Are you getting a message dialog saying something similar to 'A Backup project has been found/saved do you want to load it?' and cancelling this dialogue.

If so then this could acccount for losing changes which have been saved in the Backup project. The 'Why?' depends on how you shut down the program and the computer, or not!
