I started a new Movie Studio 2024 project, imported a few MP3 audio only clips onto the timeline. The first clip is playing at normal speed, the second clip is in slow motion. All media is on my C: drive I meet the required hardware standards. I have deleted and started over several times, no success.

Check the sample rates of the two files. I suspect one is lower than the other.

I think we need to see a detailed MediaInfo analysis of a file that plays slowly, alongside one that plays normally.
Although designed for video files MediaInfo can also analyse audio-only files. If you're not sure where to download it or how to use it please read and follow this tutorial and post the results of both analyses to any reply you make.
Re, changing the "speed" of an audio clip. Although you've not mentioned this as one of the results of what you currently hear, "slowing down" or "speeding up" an audio clip will directly affect the pitch of the sound, often to a highly-undesirable degree.
