Video files when selected from the media browsing window play the clip with audio quite OK. When the clip is moved to the story board area the audio is missing. The files were imported from the hard drive of a DV camera. The files are in the format  - Name 004.MOD.
Gspot lists the
video codec as MPEG2 - Installed, and
Audio codec as AC3 - installed.
Container DVD "VOB" format.
MPEG-2 Program Stream << {1 vid, 1 aud}.

Windows Movie Maker has no problem with the files.
I'm running Vista Home Premium and Xtreme Photostory DVD8 deluxe Ver. 8.0.3.2 (C2).  Thanks for any help

Hi,

It's basically a limitation of the program. PhotoStory 8 doesn't support the handling of Dolby Digital/AC3 audio on MPEG-2 video files. If you're using a real video camera and need AC3 support, you're probably better off upgrading to Movie Edit Pro:

Trust me - this is gonna work a million times better for your video editing needs. You don't want to torture yourself doing that in PhotoStory.

I hope this helps!
