Annoying delay when switching from the Import tab to the FX tab

Kraznet wrote on 9/30/2017, 4:34 PM

This has been going on for a while and it's rather irritating. If I open an existing project or even a new project and import the video. When I try to switch from the "Import" tab to the "Effects" tab there is a long delay and I get the circular blue cursor meaning I have to wait until that stops before I can start using the program again. I just made a video to show the problem and in that particular video example the delay was 31 seconds. Is anyone else having this problem? VPX 15.04.176 See video :

Hi

On my VPX v15.0.4.171 it takes about 5 secs for the Effects list to populate and display the standard plugins that come with the program as shown below.

There are a couple of potential causes that I can see from your video and comment.

  1. The upgrade to 15.0.4.176 appears to have caused some issues as has been discussed here and would appear to have been been pulled - it is not available from within VPX.

  2. You have many Sapphire effects plugins also installed, these may be adding to the time taken to scan and populate the Effects tab.

What is your computer specification?

Hi John,

Thanks for the fast reply. Sorry I should have added my computer setup you should be able to see it now in my signature. I seem to recall this problem was happening before the current patch. Yes I just checked and I do seem to have lots of Sapphire plug-ins installed. I never noticed them. Maybe that's the reason it take so long. Maybe I should try disabling them if it's possible?

Hi John EB and Kraznet,

I also get 5s. I am sure that I have seen longer, but not 30s. Using same version as Kraznet, patch 176.
