As far as I know this doesn't work, because usually the MP3-Files don't have the information (bmp, length) in their tags. Soundpools are something like a bonus, with nice categorization and information...your mp3 files

It's no big deal to switch between data- and soundpool manager.

I know what you mean, but it's not just that the files are put into soundpool. There is a file (always forget the name) which "explains" MusicMaker which Samples are in the Soundpool and where they belong....

Maybe you can fake it and somehow get them into soundpool, but actually I don't think this is gonna work.

You can do essentially the same thing using the File Manager in MMM.

Simply arrange all of your samples and files in folders as you'd like them on your hard drive.

Then, in the MMM File Manager, you can access and preview them just like any soundpool file just by clicking on the file name in the File Manager.

If you double-click them, they will be imported into the current arrangement.

You can add beat information to your files by using the Beat Finder.  However, this works best with material that has a strongly defined beat.  I doubt it would be much help for smooth keyboard pads.
