Acid Pro Pops and Clicks

Hi,

I am in the process of finishing a project in Acid Pro, however, when I render the tracks to any type of file, I hear pops, cracks, and dropouts in the audio. I use Roland Quad Capture, reverted back to Sound Mapper and the sound issues are the same. I also changed the buffering, sample and bit rates just to see if that would help. Originally, I had rendered the same project about a week ago and had no problem. I haven't added any new plugins to the mix...if anyone has any suggestions, that would be great!

Thank you,

BJ

@brian-johnson Does this problem only occur in this project or every project?

If it's in every project, there might be a problem with your audio interface. In that case, I would recommend to unplug it, to restart the computer (select the Restart option and not the Shut down option) and to reconnect it after the restart has finished.

Hi, SP.

For some reason it is only that particular project. Every other project works seamlessly with no issues. At one point, I thought it was a plugin problem. However, that particular project's sound had had no clicks and pops last week...

Thank you,

BJ

@brian-johnson Are you using compressed file formats like MP3 for your loops? This may be a cause for popping and clicking or other glitches.

Is your ASIO buffer size set to the maximum (2048 samples?)

S.P.,

Thanks for your help! I have, however, used all available formats and did change the ASIO buffer size to 2048. The pops have now changed locations in the rendered piece but are still there.

Thank you,

BJ

@brian-johnson You didn't answer the question. Are you using compressed loops in your project? If yes then replace them with WAV files.

It reads like you exported it in different formats. That usually doesn't impact your project.

But using MP3 or OGG or AAC or other compressed files as loops can lead to problems which can lead to clicks and pops.
