I just bought the Novation Launkey. My question is whether I can do the same things with my Music Maker Premium Edition 2021 as with the ACID Music Studio 11 on it?
Reaction I got 2 my question from MM. Hopefully it means something 2 U 2:
Music Maker and ACID are two different product lines and may support a different feature set when it comes to MIDI input devices. Generally, MIDI devices are, of course, also supported in Music Maker. Please see below for a general guide on how to set up such an input device and use a MIDI keyboard. Additional controller pads would mostly come in handy in the context of the "Live Pads" feature in Music Maker. Additional MIDI controller elements (e.g. transport controls), which you may find being supported in more fully-featured DAWs, are unfortunately not relevant in the context of Music Maker.
Please follow these instructions: (I operate on the assumption that the keyboard is properly connected to the computer via USB and switched on.) Start up Music Maker. Open the program settings by pressing the "P" key on your computer keyboard and switch to the "Audio/MIDI" tab. Double-check that the proper driver appears in the "Input device" drop-down list under the MIDI section. This driver must represent the MIDI keyboard you are using. Confirm the program settings by clicking the OK button.
Now, find the desired VST instrument in the "Instruments" tab on the right-hand side of the screen (e.g. Vita or an external software synth) and drag & drop it up into one of the tracks to create a MIDI object. Double-click on this newly created object for the actual MIDI Editor to open up, where you can edit the MIDI object. You should now be able to hear your input from the keyboard being replayed by the VST instruments you have chosen. You can also change that VST instrument again in the MIDI Editor, using the "Instr." drop-down list at the top. Once you're done testing and setting up everything, you can start recording your MIDI track.
On a side note: You might want to make sure that your Music Maker is configured to use an ASIO or WASAPI driver to avoid latency related problems. You can change the driver model when you're in the main screen of Music Maker and press "P" on your computer's keyboard to bring up the program settings dialogue. Go to the "Audio/MIDI" tab again. Pick "ASIO driver" under the driver selection in the "Audio playback" section and choose a suitable ASIO driver from the drop-down list below. If your sound hardware doesn't provide ASIO drivers, you can opt for the generic "Magix Low Latency (2016)" driver. WASAPI is another, more recent low-latency driver standard that you can experiment with to figure out which option works best for you.

Als ik uw vraag goed gelezen en begrepen heb, vraagt u aan Magix Support of u Novation Launchkey in MMM 2021 en in ACID op dezelfde manier kan configureren, bespelen en bewerken.
Het antwoord van Magix is: "MMM 2021 en ACID zijn twee verschillende programma's en ondersteunen mogelijk een andere functie set, zie hiervoor een algemene gids voor het instellen van een dergelijk invoerapparaat".
Vervolgens geeft Magix Support aan hoe u Novation Launchkey kan configureren in MMM 2021, maar hoe u het besten kan configureren in ACID, wordt jammerlijk genoeg niet aangegeven.
Misschien een optie om uw vraag eens voor te leggen aan uw leverancier waar u de Novation Launchkey heeft aangeschaft. Zelf kan ik u helaas geen goed antwoord geven op uw vraag.

Dat is een goed advies. Mocht het zover komen, zal ik daar zeker gebruik van maken. Mijn vraag aan MMM-support had meer te maken met mijn overweging naast MMM 2021 Premium, tevens ACID aan te schaffen. ACID vooral i.v.m. de aanschaf van de Novation Launchkey. Na alle info heb ik besloten eerst de combinatie van de Launchkey met MMM2021 Premium en dan in het bijzonder de Live Pads, goed uit te diepen. 'k Heb de indruk dat je dan een end in de richting van de mogelijkheden van ACID komt. Mogelijk dat je in ACID minder hoeft te programmeren en alles meer geautomatiseerd is. 'k Ga nu eerst eens kijken waar ik tegen aanloop. Bedankt voor je bijdrage!

Het doet mij deugd om te lezen, dat u hebt besloten om eerst de Novation Launchkey onder MMM 2021 premium te installeren en uit te proberen. Op een later tijdstip kunt altijd nog ACID aanschaffen. Op voorhand kunt alvast informatie inwinnen bij uw leverancier.

Sorry voor de late reactie. Andere zaken verdienden mijn aandacht. Tot nog toe heb ik geen problemen ervaren. 'k Heb 'm vooralsnog alleen midi-keyboard gebruikt en tot nog toe geen problemen. 'k Vind 'm wel lekker handzaam en compact.
