Connecting devine versakey 25

I try to connect a Devine Versakey 25 keyboard to MM2023 but do not succedd. I connect the keyboard through the MIDI cable and select in MM Versakey 25 as the input medium in the Audio/MIDI tab. The keys do work, I can play instruments however none of the other buttons do work. No transport buttons, no encoders. As far as the pads go they only give some notes of the instruments. I was expecting something else. I searched the internet for information, searched MM whether I had to install some sort of file but cannot find anything. What am I missing?

Kind regards

@Peter-Paans You're missing nothing. Music Maker cannot use arbitrary MIDI controllers. It has no hardware controller setup.

I think there are hardcoded controllers (the ones that are sold together with Music Maker on Magix.com) that offer some additional controls but I'm not sure.

The Live Pads should requires MIDI notes in the range from note 36 up to note 59 to trigger them. You need to reprogram your controller's pads to trigger these notes for them to work.

You can probably get great benefit from this program here: https://coyotemidi.com/

This tool can translate MIDI events into button presses and mouse clicks. Connect your keyboard to it and then connect the software via a virtual MIDI cable like loopMIDI or loopBe1 to Music Maker. https://coyotemidi.com/docs/using-coyotemidi-with-a-daw-loopback-midi/

The Vita Instruments of Music Maker also offer a MIDI learn feature by right clicking on the controls. Different other VST instruments also offer MIDI learn (but not everyone) but it usually works differently in each, so check their manuals. Next, some VST might be controllable by MIDI CC (this also depends on the VST itself).
