IL CAVALLO SEMBRA ESSERE L'UNICA PERSONA SANA ....LA MUSICA RIESE A SCUOTERTI ANCHE GLI ULTIMI PIGRI NEURONI DI UNA DOMENICA BESTAIALE....

It's very interesting (to me) that concepts of "madness", inner turmoil, dissociation from the realms of "normal" behavior, etc., seems to always be conveyed through the musical prism of what is known as "Jazz".  Perhaps because of the musical style's inherent improvisational and 'renegade' nature.  Or, maybe even more profoundly, because of its own propensity towards creative ambivalence?  The sometimes "schizophrenic" nature of its progressive/digressive compositional nature has long been vigorously debated (sometimes violently) amongst it's own players and disciples alike.   That argument will go on into eternity.  Subjectivity of the human mind will never let the debate rest.

Thelonious Monk is a prime example of a musical genius whose mind (later in his life) constantly waged war upon itself.    Did he suffer from schizophrenia or bipolar disorder?  No one knows for sure, but his compositions and improvisations were full of dissonant harmonies and angular melodic twists, and were consistent with Monk's unorthodox approach to the piano; which combined a highly percussive attack with abrupt, dramatic use of silences and hesitations.

When I listen to compositions such as this, that same battle explodes in my head.  I am of two minds.   I'll just say for now, that this piece along with the others, are at best thought-provoking.  Certainly not digestible to the 'casual' listener.

In any event, I appreciate your posting this for all to listen (from all camps).
