For the last 2 years, I haven't been able to end this musical project : mixing 2 very different mélodies (a romantic ballad and a funky rock) in the same song. This is done now, hence a double titling "The Gentleman" and "I'm through with you".
I hope you like it.
Lyrics of "The Gentleman- I'm through with you"
I once knew a gentleman
Was so polite and so fine,
Never a shout, a cry,
Manners were flying high,
Didn’t know what anger was about.
He asked how it was to be
As angry as possibly;
And people gathered around
To make him hear the sound
Of a furious mob shouting back at him.
Move off, Get out of my way,
Buzz off, or I’ll punch you in the face !
(You’re) still here? Didn’t you hear what I said ?
I’m through with you….
But the man was unimpressed,
He found them gross, whatever the stress.
No, no, never he would
Adopt this attitude
Lose control, respect and fortitude.
(And) many years after this time,
Again and again, he heard those cries.
But (he) would always uphold
His British self-control,
Much to the gratitude of all.
Move off, Get out of my way,
Buzz off, or I’ll punch you in the face !
(You’re) still here? Didn’t you hear what I said ?
I’m through with you….
