SOS Cassettes Video

I have been able to obtain codec DivX and would like to know please the best method I should use to record my VHS tape via Magix to DivX; I have attempted to use video recorded on Magix' own suffix .MFI but codec Divx does not recognise the format.

Hello,
the .mfi is not a real video format but only the "working file" that saves your work to reload it with the MAGIX software to continue editing. It only works with MAGIx software. You will have to export your project (File menu) if you want to explore it with other software
