Performance problems and Access Violation in VDL.EXE

Hello everyone reading this post.

I have significant problems with the following video files

1.Panasonic GH6
Any 5,7K footage I've gotten from this camera so far doesn't play nearly smoothly when imported into a project with other footage.

If I import a single video file from the GH6 into a new project, it plays smoothly. If a second file is imported, the stuttering starts.

When importing into a project where, for example, material from other media is already available, there are significant performance problems.

Magix VDL2022 only reacts with a delay. Any actions need 5-10 seconds until the program reacts again.

If I remove the file from the project, I can continue working normally after another 10 seconds.

Of course, the 24-bit 48 KHZ (96 KHZ) audio sound is not imported.

Maybe someone can test it to see if it's the same for you.

2.GoPro 11
The GoPro 11's footage is even worse. Recordings in 8:7 aspect ratio produce Access Violation in VDLEXE.

Either when playing in the timeline but at the latest when rendering.

It is not foreseeable when the error will be produced during playback in the timeline.
Sometimes I can play the affected files several times and sometimes Magix crashes the first time.

Yes, that's my point. I shoot in the codec that will give me the best overall video with the least amount of compression so I can edit without proxies, if possible. But... if I need to, I'll use proxies.

It's one reason why I do not shoot HEVC because of the overhead required to edit the clips. It does "tick" the right things in space savings and overall quality. But editability, at least on my computer, is no fun. My camera can shoot HEVC (HLG) 420 10bit 4K, and guess I might consider it if I had a long form project. But most of what I do will be 15minutes with no extended recording time. Fast and large size SD cards are inexpensive.

@CubeAce, yes, use a compression that you can be happy with the results. I mention ProRes because it's an industry standard that produces huge files, but are easy to edit on just about any computer with just about any editor. HEVC is difficult to work with unless you have a beast of a computer and the hardware/software can decode it, at least, in the "here and now". AVCHD was always transcoded back in the day when it was released. It didn't matter what computer or software you were using. Now? No problem. And while HEVC has been around for a while, it's not there "yet" where even my computer (no slouch) can work with it smoothly.
