windows11pro with a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz

This may be totally irrelevant..., but an Intel i7 is below the minimum requirements to run Win 11. (I know, because as you will see from my signature, I run an i7 6700K and I can't upgrade to Win 11, at least officially.)

Hi

Are both PC and laptop Intel i7-6700 CPU's?

Clicks and pops are usually associated with incorrect audio settings, either the output device and/or the audio buffer settings.

However, as @emmrecs has commented Windows 11 officially will not install on the i7-6700, it does not have the Intel PTT support, and I would suspect that the motherboards at best only have a TPM 1 module installed, TPM 2 or Intel PTT is required for an official install of Windows 11.

Is Windows 11 a 'forced' install?

Check the audio drivers to a version which does not fully support the older audio chipsets.

Hi @Roger-Dey and welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community

If you are working with MP3 or other lossy file types, try enabling "Always proxy compressed formats" in the 'Options> Preferences> General' menu.

Thank you rraud...I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the info...it's likely my older desktop and trying to run Win11pro that could be the issue.
